Why this site exists

A urethane ball's spin is wasted on a swing that can't deliver it; this year's driver beats last year's by single-digit yards you give right back on a mishit. Club & Carry exists to point you at the gear that genuinely helps your game, and to tell you plainly where the extra money is wasted.

The through-line is simple: spend where it matters. That means saying where to save andwhere it's worth spending — a ball matched to your swing, a fitting for one well-chosen club, a rangefinder that removes guesswork. Balls come first on this site, because that's where the value hides for the most golfers.

Who writes it

Club & Carry is written and edited by Stephen V., an enthusiast who's genuinely into value golf — someone who reads the manuals, compiles the published specs, and does the cost-per-round math. No lab coat, no sponsorships, no "expert panel." We think that's a more honest foundation than a borrowed credential, and it's one you can check.

We're deliberate about what we don't claim. We don't run a testing lab, we don't own the gear we write about, and we never say "in our testing" as though we do. Where robot or launch-monitor data matters, we cite the outlet that produced it, by name and with a link. Our authority comes from a published, reproducible method— not from a lab we don't have.
